My work is created in order to acknowledge, consider and reveal various aspects of human nature and human experience.
Each work starts out as a monotype: a one-of-a-kind print. I work into a sheet of plexiglass with a palette knife to create an image. When pressure is applied between the plexiglass and paper, boundaries are broken and perfectly defined marks become altered which cause unexpected changes and distortions to occur. This process of reverse application challenges me to work spontaneously and limits the amount of control I have in creating a precise, detailed image. When I work in this way I am reminded that perfection is not the aim but expression is.
With sincere gratitude, I thank all of you who have taken an interest in my work. To those of you who have purchased my greeting cards, thank you for making them such a great success in such a short time! It has been very fulfilling for me to merge my images with words that are meaningful to me and to share them with so many.
